How to get rid of fleas - the natural way!

So you want to know how to get rid of fleas for good? Well, on this post I've exactly that - how to get rid of those pesky fleas for good - the natural way!

The 1st step is to vacuum your house clean. It is not as simple as just vacuuming your whole house in hopes that you'll pick up those little critters. But rather, you should do a targeted vacuuming and vacuum the spots in which your pets tend to gather or like to pee on. These are the 'hot spots' for fleas. You must always remember to dispose of the vacuum bag immediately to prevent the fleas from escaping! (Death to the fleas!)

The next method is what I call the 'lemonade method'. This method simply involves you cutting up a piece of lemon and boiling it in jug of water.

Fleas are naturally deterred by the smell and of the lemon. Drip the solution in the fleas 'hot spots' and sprinkle a little on your pets as well. Do not that you should not sprinkle the solution near your pet's face! (Duhh!)

The third method I'm showing here today is using essential oils. Essential oils are naturally anti-flea. I find rosemary essential oils especially effective in getting rid of them. Drip a few drops of rosemary essential oils into a small bottle of water and spray away at the hot spots where the flea usually congregate. Of course, if you want a more certain and lethally effective way to crushing those fleas - check out this ultimate flea killer!

The fourth and final method involves a spice that can be found in most homes - garlic. Use this with caution because garlic has a smell that lingers. Crush a little bit of garlic and apply it on the coat of your pet and it will temporarily overwhelm the fleas and stop their growth. Again, use this only as a last resort!

So there you have it - 4 ways that you can use to naturally eliminate fleas in your house and on your pets. If you have cats, click here to find out how to get rid of fleas on cats.
