The first simply step to get rid of dog fleas is to use a flea shampoo and bathe your dog. The shampoo can effectively eliminate the adult fleas and leave your dog free of fleas after a bath. However, the protection from fleas only last for a few days because there are minimal chemical residue left on your dog skin to protect it from fleas. You can also use flea comb to get rid of dog fleas by combing your dog and make sure that the fleas drop into the soapy water and are killed.

Alternatively, you can choose flea collars which contains an insect growth regulator which prevents the development of flea eggs and larvae. The first type of flea collar works by emitting a gas which is toxic to fleas and concentrates on removing the fleas from your dog’s neck and head area. The other type works by spreading the chemical into your dog’s fat layer and protect your whole dog.
